TESTIMONIALS:
Match.com has so many testimonials that we decided to share one we really liked. For more testimonials you can click on the photo or link below.
I wanted to share our story. I was tired of the typical dating scene, so I decided to try online dating and signed up for Match.com. Daniel had just moved to North Carolina from Rhode Island and was getting back into the dating scene as well. He signed up with Match.com, hoping to make some new friends in the South.
The second day I used Match.com, I saw Daniel’s profile and I winked at him. Daniel lived in Charlotte, N.C., and I was in Greensboro, N.C., at the time. After a few weeks of talking online and on the phone, we decided to meet in Charlotte. We went out for our first date uptown on a Saturday night. We decided not to end the night after dinner and spent hours walking around and talking. After the first date, Daniel followed me to Greensboro and even met my parents that weekend. We have been together ever since!
We were in a long distance relationship for almost nine months, but we visited each other every weekend. On September 24, 2005, Daniel proposed to me! Daniel planned a romantic weekend in the mountains of Boone, N.C., to enjoy the Fall weather with me. We had a quaint romantic dinner and then drove to a small mountain to enjoy the moonlight. Daniel had asked me to marry him many times in the past in conversation and we had talked about the idea of getting married. That night Daniel asked me if I would marry him, and I said yes as I always did, but this time Daniel pulled a ring out of his pocket and slipped it on my finger. He then said, “for real this time.” I of course said yes, and that begins our fairy-tale journey.
We had the wedding of our dreams at Walt Disney World Resort. I had always talked about wanting to get married there, so when we got engaged everyone asked if I had looked into doing it there. Daniel wanted a beach wedding, so we came together and created the ideal wedding for both of our tastes. We tied the knot at Walt Disney’s Boardwalk Inn at Sea Breeze Point under a quaint white wedding gazebo located just off the boardwalk on the shores of Crescent Lake. We even had a photography session at Cinderella’s Castle at The Magic Kingdom after our wedding.
I felt just like Cinderella during the wedding and I am thrilled to live out our fairy tale! I hope our story inspires others to make their dreams come true! Thanks, Match.com!
