Christian Marriage Counseling Needs God Inspired Guidance
Marriage counseling and even Christian marriage counseling is nothing to be ashamed of. It is a route used by many Christians to work to follow God’s will and grow as a couple. Christian marriage counseling is recommended over secular marriage counseling as the Lord’s will and prayer are added into the mix. The advice that you may get from secular marriage counselors may be good but also may not give you guidance that comes from God’s word. Regardless if the counseling done though a religious or secular viewpoint though, make sure the counselor is knowledgeable in the area of marriage counseling. Don’t just use the priest at your church if you are looking for religious based counseling.
Many churches now have marriage and family counselors on staff and may even have a counseling center. These services not only focus on helping you in strengthening your marriage, but will draw you closer to God at the same time. They will help you get your priorities back in line so that the two of you will be able to focus on things that are more important. It is extremely important that you do not hesitate to get help if you are having problems. The longer you wait, the harder it will be to fix the problems. This is no time to be in denial. You need to get things back on track with your spouse and God, and Christian marriage counseling can help you accomplish that.
It may be embarrassing to go with your spouse to church to get counseling from people who know you and see you on a weekly basis, but trust that your decision is the right one and that people within the church will be respectful. If you feel uncomfortable going to your regular church for Christian marriage counseling, seek out advice at another church nearby. Or look like Christian marriage advice online on Christian forums. If your marriage is important to you and you are trying to live in the Lord, humility is so important.
In a nutshell, admit that you and your spouse are having a few bumps in your relationship, and find a good Christian marriage counseling program as soon as possible.

There’s really nothing to be ashamed of in seeking help. If it is anything, seeking counseling should be applauded because the couple recognizes that they have a problem and they are willing to do something about it.
